Membership Agreement & Terms of Service
Effective Upon Use
By enrolling as a member, attending events, renting space, or entering the premises of The Office by BR The Network (“The Office”), you agree to the following terms and conditions.
If you do not agree, please do not use the space or services.
These terms are designed to protect both the individual and the community and to maintain a respectful, safe, and trusted environment.
1. Scope of Services
The Office provides coworking memberships, shared workspaces, private offices, meeting areas, event access, workshops, rentals, and community programming.
All services are provided on an as-available basis. The Office reserves the right to modify hours, amenities, layouts, access, or programming at any time.
Membership does not grant exclusive or permanent rights to any desk, office, or space unless explicitly stated in writing.
2. Eligibility
Users must be at least 18 years old to use services independently.
By using The Office, you confirm that you have the legal authority to enter into this agreement.
3. Assumption of Risk
Use of shared workspaces, events, and community environments involves inherent risks including but not limited to personal injury, illness, accidents, property loss, or damage.
By entering the premises, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation.
4. Liability Waiver and Release
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless The Office by BR The Network, its owners, employees, contractors, partners, and affiliates from any claims, damages, injuries, losses, or liabilities arising from:
• use of the premises
• participation in events or programs
• interactions with members or guests
• accidents, slips, falls, or injuries
This does not apply to gross negligence or willful misconduct.
5. Personal Injury and Medical Responsibility
You are responsible for your own health and medical care. The Office does not provide medical supervision, emergency care, or insurance coverage.
Any medical treatment required is at your own expense.
6. Theft, Loss, and Personal Property
The Office is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
You are responsible for securing all belongings including laptops, equipment, cash, and valuables.
7. Internet, Technology, and Equipment
Internet access and shared equipment are provided as a convenience only.
The Office does not guarantee speed, uptime, compatibility, or uninterrupted service and is not liable for lost data, missed meetings, or business interruption.
8. Mail, Packages, and Business Address Use
Mail and package services are offered as a convenience only.
The Office is not responsible for delayed, lost, misdelivered, or stolen mail or packages.
Illegal, prohibited, or unauthorized shipments are not permitted and may be refused or returned.
9. Guests, Children, and Pets
Guests are permitted only in accordance with membership terms. Members are fully responsible for their guests’ conduct.
Children must be supervised at all times.
Pets are permitted only under posted policies. Service animals are accommodated as required by law.
10. Code of Conduct
The Office is a professional, respectful, and community-driven environment.
The following are prohibited:
• harassment or discrimination of any kind
• aggressive, threatening, or unsafe behavior
• excessive noise or disruption
• illegal activity or substance use
• damage to property
• unauthorized recording or photography
• misuse of shared resources
The Office reserves the right to remove any individual immediately, without warning or explanation, for violations or unsafe behavior.
11. Confidentiality, Non-Disclosure, and Non-Use of Ideas
The Office is a shared community where private business discussions, strategies, financial information, creative concepts, and personal experiences may be shared.
By using the space, you agree that:
• All conversations, ideas, strategies, plans, and discussions heard or observed within The Office are confidential
• You may not disclose, repeat, share, or discuss another member’s business or personal matters outside the space
• You may not use, replicate, adapt, or profit from another member’s ideas, strategies, or intellectual property without explicit permission
• Recording of conversations or meetings is prohibited without consent of all parties
These obligations apply during membership and continue after membership ends.
Violations may result in immediate termination without refund and further action as permitted by law.
12. Intellectual Property Ownership
Each member retains full ownership of their own business ideas, materials, and intellectual property.
Nothing shared within The Office grants ownership, license, or rights to others.
The Office is not responsible for resolving disputes between members but reserves the right to remove individuals who violate community trust.
13. Photography, Media, and Surveillance
The Office may photograph or record events and common areas for safety and marketing purposes.
There is no expectation of privacy in shared or common areas.
By entering the space, you consent to photography and recording unless you opt out in writing.
14. Alcohol and Substances
Alcohol may be permitted at certain events. Consumption is voluntary and at your own risk.
Illegal substances are strictly prohibited.
The Office reserves the right to remove anyone who appears impaired or unsafe.
15. Payments, Billing, and Chargebacks
All fees are due in advance and are non-refundable unless stated otherwise in writing.
Memberships are billed on a recurring basis unless canceled according to stated terms.
You agree not to initiate chargebacks without first contacting The Office. Chargebacks may result in termination of access.16. Cancellations and Refunds
No refunds are issued for partial months, missed events, unused benefits, or cancellations.
The Office may cancel events or services at its discretion and may issue a credit or refund at its discretion.
17. Termination of Membership or Access
The Office reserves the right to suspend or terminate access at any time for violations of this agreement or behavior that negatively impacts the community.
Termination does not entitle you to a refund.
18. Force Majeure
The Office is not liable for failure or delay in performance due to events beyond reasonable control including weather, flooding, power outages, government orders, emergencies, or building related issues.
19. No Guarantees
The Office does not guarantee business success, income, referrals, exposure, or results.
Participation does not create a partnership, employment, or agency relationship.
20. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Office from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the space, conduct, guests, or violations of this agreement.
21. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration
The Office values respectful communication and resolution.
In the event of a dispute, the parties agree to first attempt to resolve the matter informally and in good faith.
If unresolved, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in the State of Connecticut, rather than in court, except where prohibited by law.
22. Severability
If any provision of this agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified or removed only to the extent necessary.
All remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
23. Survival of Certain Provisions
The following sections survive termination of membership or use of the space:
• Assumption of risk
• Liability waiver and release
• Confidentiality and non-disclosure
• Intellectual property protections
• Indemnification
• Payment obligations
24. Amendments
The Office may update this agreement at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
25. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut.
Acknowledgment
By using The Office by BR The Network, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to this Membership Agreement and Terms of Service.
